About The Position

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Orthopaedics seek a Sports Medicine Surgeon (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV. Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of orthopaedic sports surgery. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. This will involve teaching in the clinic, operating room, and didactic settings. Interest and success in scholarly research is expected. This is a full-time faculty position with an emphasis on caring for patients with a wide variety of sports medicine related injuries.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent.
  • Eligibility for state medical licensure.
  • Completion of an orthopaedic surgery residency.
  • Completion of a sports medicine fellowship.
  • Board certified/eligible in orthopaedic surgery.

Responsibilities

  • Practice in the area of orthopaedic sports surgery.
  • Provide excellent patient care.
  • Teach medical students, residents, and fellows in clinic, operating room, and didactic settings.
  • Engage in scholarly research.
