About The Position

As the Ophthalmologist you will manage eye conditions including cataract, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy. Treatments include, but are not limited to: cataract surgery, diabetic retinopathy laser therapy, glaucoma treatment, and macular degeneration injections. Administrative duties are general oversight of the operations of the Ophthalmology Clinic including but not limited to provide providing efficient patient management, supervision of Ophthalmology residents and other administrative activity. Physician is expected to maintain Joint Commission readiness.

  • 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to include, but are not limited to: history and physicals, medication management, evaluation of diagnostic tests and treatment planning, surgery, and clinical reminder completion as applicable.
  • Document all medical information in an electronic medical record.
  • Participate in Process Improvement/Quality Assurance projects and participate in bi-annual Medical Staff activity including committee participation.
  • General oversight of the operations of the Ophthalmology Clinic including but not limited to provide providing efficient patient management
  • Supervision of Ophthalmology residents
  • Perform medication reconciliation.
  • Instructing and educating Ophthalmology residents.

  • Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
  • Work Schedule: M-F 8:00am to 4:30pm. Also an occasional Saturday clinic or a weekday extended hour clinic; however, subject to change, depending on the needs of the service/medical center.
  • Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
