About The Position

Physician - Ophthalmologist, Glaucoma Specialist The Department of Ophthalmology at The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a dedicated Glaucoma Specialist to join our team! This faculty position offers a blend of clinical care, teaching, and research opportunities, tailored to the candidate's experience and interests. Key responsibilities include providing comprehensive clinical care and participating in on-call duties as part of a shared faculty rotation. Provide clinical and surgical services to the VA and/or other sites under Professional Services Agreement. The role also involves supervising and mentoring medical students and residents in both clinical and surgical settings, contributing to the department's didactic teaching program, and engaging in clinical research. Faculty members are encouraged to share their research findings at national and regional conferences, and those with a strong research focus may be granted protected time to pursue clinical or bench research. Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MD or equivalent)
  • Board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology
  • Completion of a Surgical Glaucoma Fellowship
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in Kansas

  • Proven ability to develop and grow independent research programs, including securing funding from public and private sources
