About The Position

WakeMed Physician Practices is a premier multi-specialty medical group with over 500 physicians and NP/PA providers across various clinical specialties. The organization prioritizes quality, compassionate, patient-centered care and is dedicated to delivering state-of-the-art healthcare. They are seeking a Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Hematology & Medical Oncology physician with a clinical interest or current practice specializing in cutaneous malignancies (including melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancers) and sarcoma to join their rapidly expanding oncology program in Raleigh, NC. The successful candidate will join a collaborative oncology team consisting of 8 physicians and 14 NP/PA professionals within a highly integrated cancer program. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing a broad range of oncologic and benign hematologic conditions and thrive in a multidisciplinary environment, working closely with surgical oncology, colorectal surgery, hepatobiliary surgery, breast and thoracic surgery, gastroenterology, radiation oncology, dermatology (partnered practices), radiology, and pathology. WakeMed's surgical services include trauma/emergency general surgery, colorectal, breast, thoracic, minimally invasive, and bariatric surgery, supported by two fellowship-trained surgical oncologists.

Requirements

  • Licensed Medical Physician
  • Board Certification in Area of Practice Required
  • Doctorate Medicine Required
  • Fellowship/Internship/Residency - Related Area Required
  • Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Hematology & Medical Oncology physician with a clinical interest or current practice specializing in cutaneous malignancies (including melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancers) and sarcoma
  • Comfortable managing a broad range of oncologic and benign hematologic conditions
  • Thrives in a multidisciplinary environment working closely with: Surgical oncology, Colorectal surgery, Hepatobiliary surgery, Breast and thoracic surgery, Gastroenterology, Radiation oncology, Dermatology (partnered practices), Radiology and pathology

Responsibilities

  • Providing quality clinical care to patients cared for by their division
  • Providing teaching and supervision to residents, medical students and/or APP's within their division (may be responsible)
  • Appropriate coding and corporate compliance
  • General administrative responsibilities of the practice (may be responsible)
