About The Position
The position involves assisting the physician in assessing the needs of patients through various methods including history collection, observation, physical exams, telephone triage, and diagnostic data analysis. Responsibilities include performing direct patient care such as triage, assessment, procedures, treatments, patient education, and discharge instructions. The role also requires the formulation of an initial database by systematically collecting pertinent information from patients and families, documenting all relevant information in the patient's chart, and recording the database in the medical record as appropriate. Additionally, the position entails performing specialized tests, preparing medications, assisting with treatments, scheduling appointments, and conducting follow-up calls to patients. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in examination rooms, managing medical supply inventory, and developing knowledge of necessary equipment are also key responsibilities. The role promotes a learning environment and participates in quality assurance projects, projecting a positive image of the practice.
