About The Position

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center - Nashville at Nashville, OB/GYN Residency Program has an immediate opening for a core faculty position. The primary site for the program is Ascension Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital Midtown. The program's clinic is a newly-renovated 16,000 square foot facility that is in the heart of the community it serves. This position is responsible for clinical care in general obstetrics and gynecology including labor & delivery, outpatient care, and gynecological surgery, with oversight and teaching of medical students and residents. Ascension Saint Thomas and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) have an established partnership in Middle Tennessee for training medical residents and fellows in a variety of specialties including cardiology, emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, family medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, and general surgery.

Requirements

• BC/BE in OBGYN.
• Strong work ethic and team player.
• OB skills required.
• Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Medical Examiners obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• KY License also required if working in a Kentucky facility.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care in general obstetrics and gynecology including labor & delivery, outpatient care, and gynecological surgery.
• Oversee and teach medical students and residents.
• Serve as an ambassador for the program to the community.
• Participate in rounding and call coverage on adult inpatient medicine.
