About The Position

1. Patient Care and Consultation Perform patient evaluations through medical history and physical exams. Provide counseling on reproductive health, including fertility, contraception, and family planning. Educate patients on preventive care, screening recommendations, and lifestyle adjustments to maintain optimal health. Diagnose and treat gynecologic issues such as infections, menstrual problems, and menopause-related conditions. 2. Obstetric Care Manage routine and high-risk pregnancies, from prenatal visits through postnatal care. Conduct regular prenatal exams to monitor the health of both mother and fetus, including ultrasound examinations. Assist patients with birthing plans, pain management options, and any necessary preparations for delivery. Perform labor and delivery, including natural deliveries and C-sections when necessary, prioritizing the safety and well-being of both mother and child. 3. Gynecologic Services and Surgery Diagnose and treat various gynecological conditions, such as endometriosis, fibroids, and abnormal bleeding. Perform minimally invasive and major gynecologic surgeries, including hysterectomies, laparoscopies, and myomectomies. Conduct routine screenings like Pap smears, breast exams, and pelvic exams to detect cancer and other health issues early. Manage reproductive health issues such as infertility, hormone replacement therapy, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). 4. Emergency Care and Crisis Management Respond to obstetric and gynecologic emergencies, including complications in labor and high-risk pregnancies. Provide critical care for cases like ectopic pregnancies, miscarriages, and preeclampsia. Stabilize and treat patients with life-threatening gynecological issues or pregnancy-related emergencies. 5. Documentation and Record-Keeping Maintain thorough, accurate, and up-to-date patient records in compliance with legal and regulatory guidelines. Document treatment plans, test results, patient interactions, and outcomes of procedures or surgeries. Ensure confidentiality and privacy for all patient records and interactions. 6. Collaboration with Healthcare Team Work closely with nurses, midwives, sonographers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver coordinated care. Consult with specialists or refer patients when advanced or specialized care is required. Communicate effectively with hospital staff and assist in discharge planning and patient education. 7. Continuous Learning and Professional Development Stay current with the latest medical research, technology, and practices in obstetrics and gynecology. Participate in continuing medical education (CME) programs and attend professional conferences. Educate and mentor medical students, residents, or other healthcare staff as part of professional development. 8. Health Advocacy and Patient Support Advocate for women's health initiatives and preventive care. Provide compassionate support to patients, addressing physical and emotional needs throughout their care journey. Engage in community outreach or educational efforts to promote awareness on topics like family planning, prenatal health, and cancer screening. 9. Performs other duties as assigned.
