About The Position

Windham Community Memorial Hospital, Inc. (Windham Hospital) seeks a full-time Nocturnist Physician to: Provide internal medicine services to adult patients admitted to the hospital; attend to medical needs of patients, admit patients to the hospital for care, plan and implement patient treatment programs, and participate in rounds. Work closely and collaboratively with referring physicians from the community to assure effective communication to optimize patient care; develop, modify and maintain the highest quality "hand off" systems between hospital medicine service and others involved in the care of the patient to assure a complete transfer of patient information in a manner combining written, electronic and verbal communication; and actively participate in, and help develop new programs, patient care activities, systems of care, and other activities. Primarily assigned to work night shifts, but may also work day shifts. Works at Windham Hospital, 112 Mansfield Avenue, Willimantic, CT 06226 and Backus Hospital, 326 Washington Street, Norwich, CT 06360.

Requirements

  • U.S. M.D. or D.O. degree or its foreign equivalent
  • Completion of a U.S. medical residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Board eligibility or certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Possession of or eligibility for an unrestricted Connecticut medical license
