About The Position

Sanford Health is currently seeking a BE/BC Trauma Neurosurgeon to join its team in Fargo, ND. Join a practice of 10 neurosurgeons and 15 advanced practice providers in a rapidly growing, high volume practice. Sanford Medical Center in Fargo is a regional referral center with a large catchment area. Trauma Neurosurgery fellowship training or equivalent experience is preferred. The department currently provides neurosurgery subspecialties of pediatric, endovascular, spine, brain tumor, deep brain stimulation, epilepsy and general. The position involves covering adult trauma, ER spine and tumor, and inpatient hospital consults, with access to a neuro-trauma operating room. The role includes collaboration with colleagues in neuroradiology, neuro-intensivists, general trauma surgeons, pain medicine, therapy, and physical medicine and rehabilitation.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree
• Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Neurological Surgery residency program accredited by the ACGME, AOA, or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
• Demonstrate at least 50 neurosurgical procedures in the last 12 months
• Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/subspecialty board

Responsibilities

• Perform history and physical examination
• Admit patients (if applicable to setting)
• Evaluate, diagnose, consult, and provide nonoperative, and pre-, intra-, and postoperative care to patients of all ages except neonatal
• Manage injuries or disorders of the central, peripheral, and autonomic nervous systems, including their supporting structures and vascular supply
