About The Position

Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, invites applications for the position of Neuro-Ophthalmology Physician. This is an excellent full-time faculty opportunity for a board-certified neurologist who is fellowship-trained in Neuro-Ophthalmology. The Neuro-ophthalmology service is housed in the Division of Headache and Neuro-Ophthalmology within the Department of Neurological Sciences. Duties include clinical practice as well as the education of residents and medical students. Clinical duties are focused on outpatient care, with shared coverage of inpatient neuro-ophthalmology consultation. There are dedicated outpatient clinic rooms for neuro-ophthalmologic practice with on-site Humphrey Visual Field and OCT machine within the Neurology clinic space. Further inpatient clinical opportunities are also available as well as other blended practice models integrating additional subspecialty interests such as Headache, Neuroimmunology or Stroke. At Rush, there are ample opportunities to develop the career of your choosing with opportunities to explore interest as a clinician educator and/or collaborate with faculty on research interests. Currently, the Neuro-Ophthalmology has their clinical presence mainly at our downtown Chicago campus of Rush, although practice opportunities at other Rush sites can be explored. In addition to providing patient care, our clinicians have faculty appointments at RUSH University and can engage in clinical, basic science and community-based research.
