Administration of Human Resource Programs

The incumbent Physician is expected to provide comprehensive patient care in the form of constructive inpatient and outpatient Neurology patient care at the CGVAMC. The Physician will manage patients with ongoing Neurologic conditions, inpatient, in collaboration with other services of the CGVAMC. The incumbent is accountable to the Chief of Neurology department assuring the most effective delivery of care in services within Medical Service. Performs the administrative components of patient care management, such as: Participate in the educational programs for the section personnel as well as medical staff Participate in monitoring the quality, safety and appropriateness of patient care, both at the Section and facility level. Miscellaneous activities of the Medical Service inclusive, but not limited to special projects that help fulfill and/or enhance the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs as assigned by the Chief of Neurology/Chief of Staff and the Charles George VAMC Executive Leadership Attend Neurology team meetings Demonstrate ethical conduct and serve as a positive role model to others at all levels of the organization Participate in quality assurance programs and chart reviews Attend Medicine Service monthly staff meetings and COS quarterly meetings as per bylaws Complete medical records in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff Participate in Medical Staff committee assignments Perform other duties assigned by the Chief of Medicine, his Associate and or Section Chief of Neurology Participate in and attend CME activities and VA continuing educational activities Customer Service: Relationships with management, co-workers, patients, and the general public are consistently courteous, respectful, and cooperative in nature Employee will display a cooperative attitude and will effectively work together to implement the organization's mission and goals Employee will ensure productivity is maintained at the established level

  • Interviews, examines, selects diagnostic testing appropriately, and interprets/collates results to coordinate patient care
  • Communicates and documents with clarity to patients and medical personnel to coordinate patient care
  • Procedural skills may include trigger point injections, electrophysiology testing, and interpretation of electrophysiology studies
  • Shares after hour call responsibilities with section physician in rotation
  • Consultative input to outpatient and inpatient care, Collaborate with midlevel providers and physician colleagues with clear communication and documentation.

  • Current BLS required/ACLS desirable
  • 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory

  • Education Debt Reduction Program: EDRP Authorized:This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program.
