About The Position

Serve as a Staff Physician Nephrologist with VA Eastern Colorado Healthcare System (ECHCS) Medicine Service. Providing patient care and treatment of kidney related conditions. Start, continue, or finish your career here | VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System(youtube.com) DUTIES: Incumbent will be a member of the Nephrology Section/Medical Service and will participate in patient care, teaching and administrative activities of the Division, as assigned. They will function as an independent physician provider, and they will provide medical care in the spectrum of their field of Nephrology in all aspects of patient care including inpatient/outpatient care. The incumbent will be responsible for, but not limited to the following duties: 1) Continue and further the development of the Nephrology Program. (a) Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 2) Providing patient care in the VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System. Incumbent will attend on the inpatient consult service, outpatient clinic and other clinical services covered by the Nephrology Section. These clinical responsibilities may include patient care activities with or without trainees. 3) Teach medical students, interns and residents in Internal Medicine and fellows in Nephrology. Participate in the educational activities oh the Division of Nephrology, University of Colorado Denver. 4) Participate in Process Improvement/Quality Assurance projects and other administrative duties as assigned, including Nephrology Section meetings. 5) Other duties as assigned by the Chief, Nephrology Section. 6) Provide expert consultation and treatment to patients in the outpatient Nephrology as well as in the inpatient wards and emergency department. 7) The Physician will evaluate, triage consultation for inpatient and outpatient the Nephrology subspecialty. 8) They will obtain medical histories, conduct physical examinations, recommend, order, and evaluate appropriate laboratory testing, and plan and prescribe treatment for patients. 9) The incumbent will coordinate medical management and care within their discipline with Primary Care providers and other Medical/Surgical services and personnel in a multidisciplinary health care delivery system. 10) Provide on-call services for the Nephrology section as assigned. Shares after hour call responsibilities with section physicians in rotation 11) Participate in monitoring the quality, safety, and appropriateness of patient care, both at the Section and facility level. 12) Incumbent will perform administrative tasks as assigned, including, but not limited to peer reviews, Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE), special projects that help fulfill and/or enhance the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs as assigned by the Chief of Medicine/Chief of Staff/ELT 13) Participate in the educational programs for section personnel as well as the medical staff. 14) Regular attendance of required team meetings (ii) Demonstrate ethical conduct and serve as a positive role model to others at all levels of the organization. (iii) Complete medical records in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff.

Requirements

  • Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
