Infection Control Medical Director – Ochsner Medical Center New Orleans Under the direction of the System Medical Director of Infection Control, the IC Medical Director – OMC-NO serves in a strategic leadership role with oversight of Infection Prevention and Control. The IC Medical Director will collaborate with senior leadership and the Infection Control department to decrease hospital acquired infections and improve provider engagement with infection prevention best practices.

Requirements

  • Board certified or eligible for certification in physician’s primary specialty
  • Licensed Practicing Provider MD/DO
  • Credentialed and willing to maintain clinical practice
  • This position involves the handling of hazardous drugs and/or hazardous drug contaminated products either through receipt, transport, storage, preparation, dispensing, administration, cleaning and/or disposal of contaminated waste, including contact with patients who may receive hazardous drugs.

  • Project Planning and execution: Able to lay out a straightforward project plan and timeline.
  • Strategy Development in the context of Ochsner’s system strategy and operating system: Able to set, track, and achieve local goals; fundamental understanding of the operating calendar and related activities.
  • Expertise in Epidemiology and disease transmission: can manage active clinical process elements bringing the best, current science regarding infection prevention to the caregivers and clinicians in all patient care settings including the clinics
  • System Leadership: Basic knowledge of potential synergies across the System.
