About The Position

The Department of Cancer Care Services at Corewell Health West (CHW) seeks a visionary, inspirational leader to serve in the inaugural role of Director, Corewell Health Oncology Institute for Research (CHOIR). This position offers the unique opportunity to grow and expand our research program while working towards NCI designation grant. CHW is the largest healthcare delivery system in West Michigan and provides best-in-class cancer treatment and care to approximately two million people and conducts pivotal research with the goal of preventing and conquering cancer through innovations in science, patient care, education, and community outreach. The system maintains a strong and collaborative relationship with Michigan State University and Van Andel Research Institute. The Director will focus on creating a robust, clinical trial portfolio supporting CHW patient population and furthering scientific and clinical discovery and catalyze the operational expansion of the program including recruitment and retention of faculty and staff. The successful Director will bring expertise in cancer research, including strategic program assessment and process development to support efficient trial activation and expansion. The Director will be a collaborative and visionary leader of teams as well as a strong clinician and investigator.

Requirements

  • MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent from an accredited school of medicine.
  • Board certified in an oncology specialty.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in medical administration.
  • Active member of the medical staff of Corewell Health.
  • LIC-Physician (MD) or LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) in the State of Michigan upon hire.
