About The Position

The William S. Middleton Memorial Veterans Affairs Medical Center is seeking a Physician -Interventional Radiologist - Diagnostic Imaging Service. Duties include reading and performing routine and advanced Interventional Radiology imaging exams. These exams range from vascular, diagnostic body, to Musculoskeletal (MSK) and may also include bedside IR procedures as needed. The Madison VA Radiology department performs approximately 65,000 examinations per year across all modalities of Ultrasound (US), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), Bone Density, and Diagnostic Radiology (X-Ray). We currently have two MRI scanners (GE 3T and a GELS T) and three CT scanners (GE and Cannon). We also have a robust Vascular and Body lnterventional Section with Siemens Bi/Single plane equipment and Multipurpose Room. Ultrasound equipment is state-of-the art. VA Madison provides a full-integrated electronic medical records system, fully digital Radiology Department, and active multidisciplinary collaboration with other departments.Radiology fellowship training and CAQ certification is required. Strong preference is given to candidates with demonstrable skills in these techniques: Performs body-imaging invasive procedures (including but not limited to, joint aspirations and/or injections), and using the full technical capacity of MR, CT, US and fluoroscopy. The successful applicant: Will assist in development and maintenance of Radiology protocols and procedures. Will perform interpretations for sub-specialized body exams. Will interpret general radiology examinations (including body CT, US, and general radiography) and will be required to independently cover imaging reading assignments across specialties. Will provide clinical consultation, peer review input, and participate in clinical conferences and quality assurance programs. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Radiology fellowship training and CAQ certification is required.
  • 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
