About The Position

Sanford Health has an opening for a Hospitalist to provide medical care to patients of Fargo, ND and the surrounding area. The Hospitalist will provide internal medicine medical care to adult inpatients in a hospital setting. This includes diagnosing, treating, or providing continuous care to hospital inpatients. Duties include examination, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitative services. More specific duties include but are not limited to: prescribing medications or treatment regimens to hospital inpatients; admitting patients for hospital stays; writing patient discharge summaries and sending them to primary care physicians; conducting discharge planning and discharging patients; ordering or interpreting the results of tests such as laboratory tests and radiographs (x-rays); communicating with patients' primary care physicians upon admission, when treatment plans change, or at discharge to maintain continuity and quality of care; referring patients to medical specialists, social services or other professionals as appropriate; participating in continuing education activities to maintain or enhance knowledge and skills and attending inpatient consultations in areas of specialty.

Requirements

  • Medical degree or foreign equivalent in Medicine.
  • 36 month Internal Medicine residency.
  • North Dakota state medical license or ability to obtain.
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible.
