About The Position

Bronson Adult Critical Care has an exciting full-time opportunity for a BE/BC Critical Care physician to join an established group of physicians and Advanced Practice Providers. The position is employed within Bronson Medical Group and involves managing a wide variety of patients in the Medical, Neurologic, and Cardiothoracic ICUs. The role includes working with medical students and residents from Western Michigan University's school of medicine. The position is based at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital and Bronson Methodist Hospital, both providing inpatient critical care services. Bronson Healthcare Group serves a ten-county population of one million in southwest Michigan and northern Indiana, and is recognized for quality, safety, service, and engagement.

Requirements

  • BC/BE Fellowship Trained in Critical Care.
  • Current unrestricted or pending Licensure in the state of Michigan.
  • Medical degree and 2 years of direct or intern experience required.
  • Current Medical License in the state of Michigan.
  • Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to providing passionate and quality patient-centered care.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Epic EMR.
  • Interest in academic affiliation through Western Michigan University School of Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing illnesses and prescribing treatment for patients.
  • Examining patients and obtaining medical histories.
  • Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests.
  • Counseling patients regarding preventive healthcare, hygiene, and diet.
  • Managing a wide variety of patients in the Medical, Neurologic, and Cardiothoracic ICUs.
  • Educating patients on wellness, prevention, and early detection.
  • Determining referrals required based on examination and patient needs.
  • Prescribing medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients.
  • Documenting all services in patient medical records.
  • Consulting with Medical Director and other professionals on patient care.
  • Participating in process improvement and continuing education programs.
  • Overseeing mid-level medical staff and nursing clinical staff as assigned.
