About The Position

Bronson Healthcare in Kalamazoo, Michigan is seeking a highly motivated and skilled BE/BC General Infectious Disease physician to join our growing team. Position Highlights: Work along-side 1 Physician and 2 APP’s Expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide variety of Infectious Diseases in the inpatient setting Collaborative relationship with other medical specialties providing comprehensive infectious disease consultations and ongoing care for hospitalized patients Collaboration with hospital epidemiology and Infection prevention teams Hospital Employed, Primarily Inpatient Service working M-F 8a-5p Limited Call Responsibilities with other providers EPIC EMR Fully integrated within the Bronson Healthcare system.

Requirements

  • BE/BC Fellowship Trained in Infectious Disease.
  • Current unrestricted or pending Licensure in the state of Michigan.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and quality patient-centered care.
  • Medical degree and 2 years of direct or intern experience required.
  • Current Medical License in the state of Michigan.
  • Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing illnesses and prescribing as well as administering treatment for patients suffering from disease or illness.
  • Examining patients and obtaining medical histories.
  • Ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests.
  • Counseling patients regarding preventive healthcare, hygiene and diet.
  • Providing medical patient care by interviewing, examining and treating clinical patients.
  • Educating patients on wellness, prevention and early detection.
  • Determining which referrals are required based on examination and patient needs.
  • Exercising final medical judgment in all issues of health care.
  • Prescribing medical treatment and clinical drugs to patients.
  • Documenting all services in patient medical record.
  • Consulting with Medical Director and other professionals on staff as needed regarding patient care.
  • Participating in process improvement, management, continuing education, and other patient care programs.
  • Overseeing mid-level medical staff as assigned as well as nursing clinical staff.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all patient information according to federal guidelines and regulations.
