About The Position

Geisinger Community Medical Center is seeking an Infectious Disease provider to join their growing team in Scranton, PA. Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC) is an acute care hospital with 293 beds. GCMC provides high-quality, coordinated, patient-centered care for residents throughout Lackawanna County and northeastern Pennsylvania. It features Level II trauma center and electronic intensive care unit in Lackawanna County

Requirements

• Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine- (Required)
• Licensed Medical Doctor - State of Pennsylvania
• Patient Care And Procedural Skills
• Professional Etiquette
• Systems-Based Practice

Responsibilities

• The ID physician Deals with infectious diseases of all types and in all organs, including conditions requiring selective use of antibiotics.
• This specialist diagnoses and treats AIDS patients and patients with fevers that have not been explained.
• May also have expertise in preventive medicine and conditions associated with travel.
• Inpatient - with 1-2 days clinical days per week.
• Interviews patients to obtain information such as symptoms, medical histories, and family histories.
• Performs and/or interprets diagnostic tests as needed.
• Diagnose and design a plan of treatment for injuries and/or illness.
• May prescribe or administer medications.
• Prepares, maintains, and reviews records that include patients' histories, examination findings, treatment plans, or outcomes.
• Accountable for satisfying all job specific obligations and complying with all organization policies and procedures.
