The selected Physician works as part of a robust team of clinicians, nurses, medical assistants, social workers and other support staff to provide health care to patients in Wake County’s Infectious Disease Clinic. The clinic is partially funded through a competitive and renewable Ryan White Grant. This position is located at the Wake County Public Health Building in Raleigh. Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to: As part of the Clinical Care team, the successful candidate will provide screening, diagnosis and coordinate treatment for adult patients presenting to the WCPH Infectious Disease Clinic Provide HIV care, adult primary care, hepatitis C treatment, PrEP care, preventive care, STI testing and treatment and acute illness managemen Provide support services to the mental behavioral health teams as needed to optimize continuity of client care Perform office-based procedures as indicated. These may include, for example, wound care, I & D and cerumen removal, (additional procedures, such as colposcopy and anoscopy, may be approved based on patient need and provider credentials) Supervise Advanced Practice Practitioners per NC Medical and Nursing Board guidelines Participate in selected clinician-focused learning and professional development activities including regular clinician meetings, quality improvement programs, and supervision and training for student learners Act, from time to time, as a consultant for other clinical staff and services offered by Wake County Public Health. On call duties: Provide after hours on call service on a rotating basis with other providers. Physician does not provide in person care during after clinic hours.
