About The Position

The Inspector I will inspect new and existing residential and commercial construction for conformance with adopted Code and Ordinances. This position requires performing field inspections of building components and ensuring construction location conforms to adopted Codes and Ordinances. The Inspector will maintain records on all inspections performed and perform data collection and data entry relating to inspections. Coordination with design professionals, developers, contractors, and homeowners regarding building inspection activity is also a key responsibility. The role involves operating a mobile laptop computer and a City vehicle from project site to project site. The Inspector may be asked to perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of related experience.
  • ICC certification (Building) within six (6) months of hire.
  • A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire.
