About The Position

MidState Medical Center seeks a full-time Hospitalist Physician to provide internal medicine services to adult patients admitted to the hospital; attend to medical needs of patients, admit patients to the hospital for care, plan and implement patient treatment programs, and participate in rounds. Work closely and collaboratively with referring physicians from the community to assure effective communication to optimize patient care; develop, modify and maintain the highest quality "hand off" systems between hospital medicine service and others involved in the care of the patient to assure a complete transfer of patient information in a manner combining written, electronic and verbal communication; and actively participate in, and help develop new programs, patient care activities, systems of care, and other activities. Will work at MidState Medical Center, 435 Lewis Avenue, Meriden, CT 06451. May also be assigned Hospitalist shifts at The Hospital of Central Connecticut, 100 Grand Street, New Britain, CT 06052, based on patient and staffing needs.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), or the foreign equivalent
  • completion of a U.S. medical residency in Internal Medicine
  • board eligibility or certification in Internal medicine
  • the possession of or eligibility for an unrestricted Connecticut medical license
