About The Position

Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center in Covington, Louisiana is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Classic Benign Hematologist to join its expanding, multi-specialty group practice. Ochsner MD Anderson is the leading clinical oncology program in the Gulf South Region. For over 75 years, we have been dedicated to cancer research and new cancer treatment developments, with more clinical trials than anywhere else in the region. Our multi-disciplinary approach, advanced technologies, and focus on clinical research and our Center for Innovative Cancer Therapies Program, define our approach to cancer care. Over the last 5 years, Ochsner Health has invested more than $135M in facilities and technology across the Ochsner Cancer Institute reflecting our commitment to leading cancer care in the region and beyond. These projects have included a 115,000 ft2 expansion to the Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center, the new St Tammany Cancer Center in Covington, and the expansion of the Baton Rouge Cancer Center. Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center is one of only seven MD Anderson Cancer Center partners in the country and the only one in Louisiana. It joins a collaborative network of hospitals and health care systems dedicated to advancing MD Anderson’s mission to improve the quality and accessibility of cancer care and research. As such, Ochsner MD Anderson patients in southeastern Louisiana receive care based on the same protocols and practice standards provided at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas, and benefit from integration with its clinicians and researchers. Ochsner MD Anderson experts adhere to the philosophy, process and guidelines of MD Anderson’s clinical leadership, and they provide a full range of multidisciplinary care options, including medical oncology, surgery and radiation.

Requirements

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Hematology.
  • Experience in a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Join an expanding, multi-specialty group practice.
  • Provide chemotherapy infusion and radiation oncology services.
  • Utilize advanced imaging and integrative oncology services.
  • Participate in a weekly call rotation shared with regional physicians.
  • Engage in hospital consultant practice.
  • Support available from specialists throughout the Ochsner Health System.
  • Participate in research and teaching opportunities.
