About The Position

Mercy Clinic Joplin is seeking a full-time BE/BC Hematology Oncologist to join our well-established Commission on Cancer accredited cancer center in Joplin, Missouri. Mercy Joplin is a beautiful five-year-old 240 bed hospital with integrated cancer center focused on individualized care for cancer patients. We are offering candidates a competitive recruitment and benefit package. Join 3 Hem/Oncs, 2 full time Oncology Nurse Practitioners and 1 Radiation Oncologist Nurse Navigators involved in cancer care, 4 dedicated oncology nurses in the office 1:4 Call Schedule and 4-day work week Position available due to physician retiring, quick practice ramp up CoC accredited comprehensive community cancer program Call Coverage of only one hospital that is attached to the clinic! Multidisciplinary tumor board on site weekly Clinic is adjacent to Infusion Center with onsite pharmacy Active Research program: Clinical trials through the NCI and Guardian Research Network along with opportunities to open industry trials and write manuscripts Teaching Affiliation with Kansas City University with ability to have medical students in clinic with a stipend System wide EPIC EMR Leadership Opportunities available within Mercy Most needed specialties integrated and on site Diversity of cases due to catchment area.

Requirements

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Hematology Oncology.
  • Ability to work in a physician-led organization.
  • Experience in a community cancer program.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with clinical trials and research.
  • Leadership experience in a healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Join a team of 3 Hematology Oncologists and 2 full-time Oncology Nurse Practitioners.
  • Participate in a 1:4 call schedule.
  • Engage in active research programs including clinical trials.
  • Teach medical students from Kansas City University.
  • Provide individualized care for cancer patients.
