About The Position

The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematologic Malignancies and Cellular Therapeutics is seeking a Hematologist with a focus on malignant hematology to join its expanding team. This position requires providing medical care for both outpatient and inpatient services for patients diagnosed with hematologic malignancies, including leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma, and related disorders. The malignant hematology physician will collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team, including pathologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, transplant specialists, nurses, and advanced practice providers, to ensure coordinated patient care. Requirements

  • BE/BC in Internal Medicine
  • BE/BC in Hematology/Medical Oncology
  • Ability to be licensed in the state of Kansas and Missouri

Responsibilities

  • Providing medical care for both outpatient and inpatient services for patients diagnosed with hematologic malignancies, including leukemias, lymphomas, multiple myeloma, and related disorders
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team, including pathologists, radiologists, radiation oncologists, transplant specialists, nurses, and advanced practice providers, to ensure coordinated patient care
  • Participation in clinical trials, research initiatives, and quality improvement projects to advance the field of malignant hematology
  • Providing inpatient and outpatient care for patients with acute and long-term complications of hematologic cancers
  • Supervise, mentor, and teach hematology/oncology fellows, residents, and medical students
  • Actively engage in departmental and institutional activities such as tumor boards, case conferences, and continuing medical education programs
