About The Position

The Corewell Health Department of Neurological Health is seeking to add a full-time headache neurologist to their well established, high-volume practice. This position involves a 100% headache practice with light call, and is part of a well-established team that includes 2 fulltime Headache Neurologists and 3 APPs. The practice is supported by a large multispecialty program which includes general neurology and a neurology residency program. New patient consults are scheduled for 60 minutes, while return visits are 30 minutes. Procedures performed include onsite infusions, Botox injections, and nerve blocks. The practice offers excellent patient resources, including onsite pain psychologists, PharmD support, RN case management, and an experienced, caring staff.

Requirements

  • Required Bachelor's Degree
  • LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required

Responsibilities

  • Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
  • Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
  • Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they relate to medical practice and quality patient care.
  • Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
  • Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
  • Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
  • Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.
  • Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.
