The Prisma Health Physician is responsible for the provision of quality medical services to patients of Prisma Health-University Medical Group. This role involves engaging in the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of disease, defects, or injuries, and recommending or prescribing treatments for the relief or cure of physical, mental, or functional ailments or defects. The physician is expected to render medical treatment consistent with generally accepted professional standards of care, regardless of the patient's ability to pay or their demographic characteristics. The physician must complete accurate, legible, and timely records for all medical examinations and procedures, utilizing Current Procedural Terminology and International Classification of Diseases codes. Additionally, the physician will provide after-hours call coverage equally with other physicians in the practice unless otherwise agreed. Compliance with standards of accepted medical practice and regulations from managed care organizations, including Medicare and Medicaid, is essential. The physician is also expected to enhance their clinical skills through continuing medical education to meet certification and licensing requirements. Participation in non-revenue generating activities that advance the Vision and Mission of Prisma Health is required. This may include serving on committees, community outreach, and contributing to teaching and research goals. The physician will also participate in quality assurance programs, utilization management programs, patient education services, and patient satisfaction programs. Furthermore, the physician will assist the employer in obtaining and maintaining necessary licenses and accreditations related to their practice.
