French Consulting is seeking a Board-Certified Physician specializing in General Surgery to provide essential surgical services at the VA Medical Center in Spokane, WA. Requirements

  • Medical License: Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
  • No history of restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily surrendered, or denied licenses
  • Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible by The American Board of Surgery (http://www.absurgery.org/)
  • Life Support Certification: Current BLS and ACLS (or equivalency)
  • Continuing Medical Education: Current on all required CME for maintaining certifications
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI): Current NPI number
  • DEA Certificate: Current and valid
  • Work Authorization: Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Background Check: Not listed on HHS OIG List of Excluded Individuals/Entities
  • Tuberculosis Testing: Negative TST or IGRA within the past year (negative chest x-ray if positive result)
  • Measles, Mumps & Rubella: Proof of immunity
  • Varicella: Proof of immunity
  • Acellular Pertussis: Proof of 1 dose of Tdap vaccination
  • Influenza: Annual influenza vaccination (or medical mask requirement if contraindicated)
  • Bloodborne Pathogens: Evidence of completing OSHA-compliant training; Hepatitis B vaccination series and surface antigen test results

Responsibilities

  • Provide general surgery services to veterans at the Spokane VA Medical Center
  • Deliver comprehensive surgical care including pre-operative assessments, surgical procedures, post-operative management, and communication of test results
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Maintain the highest standards of clinical practice and patient safety
  • Maintain current, full, and unrestricted medical licensure in compliance with VA requirements
  • Keep all certifications current, including BLS, ACLS, and Board Certification/Eligibility
  • Complete all required continuing medical education (CME) to maintain certifications
  • Ensure compliance with all health screenings and immunization requirements
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in accordance with VA standards including QM/PI documentation
  • Participate in staff meetings and quality improvement meetings
  • Provide annual verification of credentials and certifications
