About The Position

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a fellowship trained BE/BC general Gastroenterologist to join our team in Huntley, IL, located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Our board-certified physicians evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of digestive disorders using advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques. This is a hospital-based position at Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital with a 7 days on, 7 days off model. The role involves performing endoscopy generated from the emergency department and the inpatient consult service. This position will be supported by an Advanced Practice Provider to facilitate inpatient consults and transition of care. Requirements

• Fellowship trained in Gastroenterology.
• Board Eligible/Board Certified (BE/BC).
• Competent in basic upper and lower endoscopy.
• Experience in enteral access (PEG placement).
• Ability to manage GI emergencies such as upper and lower GI bleeding, food impactions, and management of volvulus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of digestive disorders.
• Perform endoscopy generated from the emergency department and the inpatient consult service.
• Work in conjunction with 1-2 established interventional endoscopists and other NM subspecialists.
• Facilitate inpatient consults and transition of care with the support of an Advanced Practice Provider.
