About The Position

This position is for a Pharmacy Technician within the Federal service, specifically in various locations across North Dakota and South Dakota. The role requires candidates to demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties associated with the position. Candidates will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part-time work. The job entails responsibilities related to pharmaceutical care, storage, and distribution, and requires a clear identification of duties and hours worked in previous positions.

Requirements

• Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
• Experience in hospital pharmacies, retail pharmacies, or pharmaceutical firms is preferred.
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical nomenclature, dosage forms, and weights and measures is required.
• Completion of relevant education in pharmacy or pharmacy technology is necessary for certain grade levels.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with IV preparation and compounding.
• Familiarity with pharmacy management software.
• Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory and manage drug stocks.
• Provide information to patients regarding prescriptions.
• Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical regulations and standards.
• Prepare sterile solutions and compound medications as needed.
