About The Position

This position is for a Pharmacy Technician within the Federal service, specifically in various locations across North Dakota and South Dakota. The role requires candidates to demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties associated with the position. Candidates will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part-time work. The job entails responsibilities related to pharmaceutical care, storage, and distribution, and requires a basic knowledge of pharmaceutical nomenclature and procedures.

Requirements

• Must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.
• Experience in hospital pharmacies, retail pharmacies, or pharmaceutical firms is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical nomenclature and procedures is required.
• Education in pharmacy or pharmacy technology is necessary for certain grade levels.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with compounding and reconstituting medications.
• Familiarity with pharmacy software and inventory management systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and dispensing of medications.
• Maintain pharmacy inventory and manage drug stocks.
• Record necessary information on control logs.
• Explain pharmacy prescriptions to patients as necessary.
• Prepare sterile solutions and measure additives for IVs.
• Inspect final products for accuracy before delivery.
