About The Position

This position is for a Doctor of Optometry who will oversee the Optometry Program and provide comprehensive medical and optometric care to patients. The role requires supervision of Optometry staff, ensuring quality of care, and serving as a clinical expert in eye care. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage and lead effectively.

Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited program.
• Passing score on the National Board of Examiners in Optometry (NBEO) examinations.
• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice optometry.
• At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Optometry Program in its entirety.
• Provide direct, comprehensive medical/optometric care to patients.
• Supervise Optometry staff by assigning work and evaluating performance.

• Ensure quality of care within the department.
• Serve as an Optometry and Eye care clinical expert in providing consultation.
