RESPONSIBILITIES Direct Care: Family Practice & Primary Care Administersâ¯orâ¯prescribesâ¯treatments⯠Discusses potential side effects to medications and/or immunizations withâ¯patients⯠Promote healthâ¯byâ¯advisingâ¯patients about diet, hygiene, and methods for disease prevention⯠Refers patients to medical specialists for consultant services for their well-being, as needed⯠Follows up with patientsâ¯regardingâ¯progress inâ¯high riskâ¯or emergencyâ¯cases⯠Conducts physical examinations to provide information needed for admissionâ¯to schools, consideration for jobs, or eligibility for insuranceâ¯coverage⯠OB/GYN: Administers or prescribes treatments and tests including pap smears, pelvic and breast exams Conducts thorough consultations, medical histories, and physical examinations of patients Diagnoses and treats gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, infections, and menopause related symptoms Provides prenatal care, including regular check-ups, basic ultrasonography, and screenings for pregnancies, including high risk pregnancies Offers family planning services, contraceptive counseling and assists with contraceptive procedures Performs minor office-based procedures such as colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, contraceptive implants/removals, and IUD insertions/removals Educates patients on reproductive health, preventative care, and treatment options Provides counseling and support to patients regarding family planning, fertility issues and pregnancy related concerns Provider and Team Support: Shares accountability for overall patient health outcomes by working in coordination with careâ¯teams⯠Operates to instill confidence in our care and in our facilities to patients,â¯fellow employees, and otherâ¯stakeholders⯠Assesses training needs and promotes developmental activities ofâ¯medical staff⯠Clinical Administration: Reviews patient files/records, including allergies, problems, medications, and immunizationâ¯status⯠Elicits and records information about patient medicalâ¯history⯠Examines patients for symptoms or physicalâ¯information⯠Orders and executes various test, analyses, and diagnostic images toâ¯provide⯠information on patient’s condition⯠Analyzes reports and findings of tests,â¯examinations,â¯and diagnosesâ¯to understand the patient’s current condition⯠Determinesâ¯and prescribesâ¯patientâ¯medications, dosages and schedulesâ¯dependentâ¯onâ¯theirâ¯conditionsâ¯and allergies⯠Prescribes and administers vaccinations to immunize patient from communicable diseases⯠Documents patient visits, including medical history, physical exam, diagnoses, and plan of action⯠Stays informed of organizational activitiesâ¯andâ¯promote mission andâ¯goals⯠Reviews and responds to all forms of communication, such as emails, postal mail, voice mails⯠Functions at highest level according to credentials andâ¯competency⯠Impactsâ¯patient experienceâ¯byâ¯demonstratingâ¯courteous and helpful behavior and a commitment to accuracy⯠Customer Relations: Maintains professional working relationships with all levels of staff, clients, and the public⯠Cooperates inâ¯accomplishingâ¯department goals andâ¯objectivesâ¯
