About The Position

The position involves practicing medicine within the scope of license, training, and credentialing, adhering to the current standards of care and quality criteria adopted by PrimeCare. The role includes seeing a diverse patient panel in a broad-spectrum family practice that serves all ages and conditions, including prenatal care. Responsibilities include prescribing or administering treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury. The physician will also order, perform, and interpret tests and analyze records, reports, and examination information to diagnose patients' conditions. Charting on an electronic medical record and completing required paperwork within 72 business hours is essential. Additional options include participation in teaching activities with the Saints Mary and Elizabeth Family Medicine Residency Program, supervising the Family Medicine Teaching Service, and providing inpatient care of adult, newborn, and pediatric patients at Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center. The role may also involve precepting residents at PrimeCare West Town or Wicker Park, participating in the maternal child call schedule, and providing inpatient obstetrical care if current competency is demonstrated. Attendance at faculty meetings is also required.

Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited medical school with degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) and completion of accredited Residency.
  • Board certification in specialty, to be obtained within one year of graduation if newly graduated.
  • Unrestricted license to practice within the State of Illinois.
  • Current DEA certificate without restriction.
  • Current and Active CPR certification.
