About The Position

Provideshealth care and treatment of patients within the scope of practice asdefined by one's training and/or Board Certification. Requirements

  • Graduateof an accredited school of Medicine or Osteopathy
  • BoardCertification or eligibility in respective specialty is required ofall new hires.
  • Mustmaintain current state licensure and DEA certificate.
  • Thisposition requires credentialing, following the National Committeefor Quality Assurance (NCQA) guidelines.
  • Demonstratesknowledge of age-related growth and development principlesnecessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety ofpatients.
  • ProvenProficiency in the operation of the following: Telephone, DictationDevices, CRT, Personal Computer, Printer and Photocopier.
  • Provenproficiency in operation of all equipment used in the direct careand treatment of patients in the related specialty.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general patient care involving subjective and objectiveevaluation, assessment, and formulation of a plan of care.
  • Prescribes or administers treatment as determined by the plan ofcare.
  • Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to identify and assesspatients' clinical problems and health care needs.
  • Consults with and makes appropriate referral to other healthcare providers in abnormal or unusual cases.
  • Maintains the medical record in accordance with PNHS standards.
  • Recognizes and appropriately responds to medical emergencies.
  • Serves as patient advocate by maintaining patientconfidentiality, protecting patient rights, communicating in atimely manner, and resolving concerns or complaints regarding careand service.
  • Assists in development of new policies, programs, procedures, ortechniques in designated department.
  • Participates in research, educational or other special projectsas needed.
  • Performs other related tasks.
