About The Position

The Physician in Family Medicine/Internal Medicine at Hart Primary Care is responsible for diagnosing, preventing, and treating health issues presented by patients. This role involves providing quality medical services, overseeing Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners, and ensuring continuity of care through effective communication with the healthcare team. The physician will also participate in process improvement activities to enhance patient care and satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Licensure as a Physician (MD) or Osteopathic Physician (DO) in the State of Michigan upon hire required.
  • DEA Registration in the State of Michigan upon hire required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or ARC required within 120 days.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification if required by specialty or stress test performed within 120 days.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor the medical needs of patients and their significant others.
  • Provide quality medical services to patients in a cost-effective manner and ensure coverage of the case load at all times.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to medical practice and quality patient care.
  • Oversee Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and others providing delegated services to patients.
  • Evaluate educational needs of patients, significant others, and staff, and develop appropriate teaching strategies.
  • Document patient interactions in compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Communicate with healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care and act as a patient/family advocate.
  • Participate in ongoing process improvement activities to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.
