About The Position

Emory Specialty Associates Division of Hospital MedicineHospital Medicine PhysicianJob DescriptionEmory Division of Hospital Medicine, Department of Medicine. This position is for an inpatient Hospital Medicine faculty physician.Professional Service• You will be expected to devote your total professional effort to professional service. • You are expected to perform the following duties as an inpatient Hospital Medicine physician on professional service: history and physical examinations of patients being admitted to the hospital; assessing the acuity of hospitalized patients and ensuring a proper level of care; bedside procedures as needed and credentialed for; consultations services for specialty provider partners; order consultations from specialty provider partners; initiating contact with primary care providers and teams in the outpatient setting in order to ensure appropriate continuity of care. On some months, you may be working with trainees, which may include allied health professionals. Your clinical schedule will be in accordance with internal Division policy and procedures and according to your actual clinical effort.JOB DESCRIPTION: The Physician will attend to the needs of all patients within the scope of licensing, training and credentialing. Attend to the medical needs of all patients by performing patient care activities to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of a Physician and assist in generating adequate practice volume. The Physician will participate in on-call duties and actively participate in meetings and committees. Practice medicine within the current scope of national patient safety goals.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Doctor of Medicine Degree (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree (D.O.).
  • Must hold a valid and unrestricted medical license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia.
  • Hold a valid DEA certificate without restriction.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be computer literate.

Nice To Haves

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified preferred.
  • Experience in outpatient medical practice preferred.
