About The Position

Ascension Sacred Heart is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible General Cardiologist for their clinic in Pace, Florida. This role offers an opportunity to be embedded in a community clinic while also covering hospital call for general cardiology services with a 1:6 call schedule. The practice consists of 10 Physicians and 12 APPs, utilizing Cerner/athena EMR systems. The facility, Ascension Sacred Heart, is recognized as a Fortune and Premier, Inc. Top 50 Cardiovascular Hospital and a Leapfrog A rated Facility. The position is located in a Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA) and/or Medically Underserved Area/Population (MUA/P). The role involves working on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Florida within an established, busy practice offering a full scope of cardiovascular services, including structural heart and CVT Surgery (no transplant).

Requirements

  • Licensed Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Florida Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Board eligibility/certification in medical specialty required.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical services to patients in an assigned area.
  • Evaluate and treat patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
  • Coordinate discharge planning with case management.
  • Recommend, participate in, and work to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
  • Accept patient referrals from other physicians.
  • Act as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
  • Participate in academic programs (eg medical education and research) as requested.
  • Provide appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
  • Participate in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
