Community Health Centers of America is hiring for a Cardiologist to work in our family practice clinics in the Merced, CA area. Possibly will also work in partner long-term care facilities. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients for acute, episodic or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team, in the clinic setting.   • Obtains, analyzes, and interprets patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
  • Diagnoses or treats acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, or injuries.
  • Recommends diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.
  • Prescribes medications.
  • Educates patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses.
  • Orders, performs, or interprets the results of diagnostic tests.
  • Maintains complete and detailed records of patients' health care plans and prognoses.
  • Detects and responds to adverse drug reactions.
  • Perform follow-up visits to monitor patients or evaluate health or illness care.
  • Performs cardiological physical examinations.
  • Supervises or coordinates patient care or support staff activities.
  • Maintains current knowledge of state legal regulations for nurse practitioner practice.
  • Keeps abreast of regulatory processes and payer systems.
  • Obtains health information from patient.
  • Performs physical examinations and assesses any medical problems.
  • Practices safe and healthy control methods while working with patients.
  • Educates patients and families concerning medical treatments, medications, etc.
  • Administers or orders for diagnostic tests such as x-ray, electrocardiograms and lab tests.
  • Interprets test results to diagnose any related health issues.
  • Counsels patients about compliance with medication.
  • Assists in pre-operation or post-operation care.
  • Coordinates activities of patient care.
  • Documents patient progress with medication or treatment.
  • Collaborates with other physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, including healthcare professional staff to form a high performing medical team.
  • Ensures compliance and attention to all corporate policies and procedures.
  • Follows facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment.
  • Follows facility and GHR Unusual Occurrence Protocol.
  • Respects cultural and religious practices of minor patients.
  • Upholds HIPAA regulations.
  • Is punctual and dependable for assigned/confirmed shifts.
  • Must possess a degree in medicine and a valid license from the California Medical Board.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Appropriate certifications and/or licensures.
  • Current BLS/ACLS required.
  • Current DEA required.
  • In depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.

  • Flexibility to work with a variety of people, differing in ages, personalities, and backgrounds.
  • Time management skills to be able to see a high number of patients.
