To plan, implement and evaluate the provision of high-quality medical care, with appropriate resource management, to children and adolescents in the respective clinical area. The Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Emory University Department of Pediatrics, invite applications for faculty hospitalist positions to provide care for hospitalized children in pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplantation. Responsibilities will include overnight inpatient care. Qualified candidates should be Board Certified/Eligible in Pediatrics, Hematologist/Oncologists, and preference will be given to applicants who are board certified/eligible in pediatric hematology/oncology. This is a clinical position with a rank of assistant or associate professor depending on experience and accomplishments. About the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center The successful candidate will join one of the strongest pediatric hematology/oncology/BMT programs in the country. • The Aflac program has more than 90 faculty and 35 Advance Practice Providers (APPs). • More than 7,000 children with cancer and blood disorders are treated annually at the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. • The Aflac pediatric oncology program cared for more than 450 new cancer cases last year, represents the pediatric arm of the Emory’s NCI-designated Winship Cancer Center, and is one of the four largest pediatric oncology programs in the country. • The Aflac pediatric hematology program is one of the largest in the country (including 1800 active patients with sickle cell disease). • The Aflac blood and marrow transplantation program performed over 80 transplants last year. • Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta—the only tertiary pediatric center in the dynamic metropolitan Atlanta area—serves a population of nearly 6 million people, providing a strong basis for clinical programs in rare disorders.
