About The Position

The Physician Assistant will be responsible for assisting in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with rheumatic diseases, providing comprehensive care and management for conditions such as arthritis, lupus, and other autoimmune disorders. The Physician Assistant will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and patient-centered care.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• State licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant.
• Previous experience in rheumatology or a related field is preferred.
• Strong clinical skills, including patient assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and treatment planning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Comprehensive knowledge of rheumatology, including the various rheumatic diseases, treatment options, and patient care techniques.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with advancements in rheumatology.

Responsibilities

• Conducting patient evaluations, including medical history and physical examinations, to assess and diagnose rheumatic conditions.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRIs, blood tests, and other relevant procedures.
• Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans based on the patient's conditions and needs.
• Educating patients and their families about rheumatic diseases, treatment options, medication management, and self-care techniques.
• Monitoring patients' progress and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Working closely with rheumatologists, other healthcare providers, and specialists to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes.
• Staying up to date with advancements in rheumatology through research, attending conferences, and participating in continuing education opportunities.
• Maintaining accurate patient records, including documentation of medical histories, treatment plans, and follow-up notes.
• Participating in clinical research and contributing to advancements in rheumatology.
