About The Position

Hospital for Special Surgery, #1 in Orthopedics for the last 15 years, is currently looking for a Full Time Physician Assistant. This position is to support the practice of Dr. Zachary Grabel at HSS Florida, West Palm Beach. Dr. Grabel is a board certified, fellowship-trained spine surgeon. He provides high quality comprehensive spine care, including primary and revision surgery of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. He treats conditions ranging from degenerative spine disorders to complex deformities and spine tumors using a variety of techniques including minimally invasive spine surgery, artificial disc replacement, anterior, posterior and lateral approaches to the spine. The PA will serve as a primary assistant to the doctor. Duties will include clinical evaluation of patients in the office, counseling patients and their families regarding proposed surgical procedures as well as addressing pre-and post-operative patient questions and concerns, and surgical first assist role in the operating room. The PA will interact closely with office staff, other PAs, patients and families to be an integral part of providing a high level of clinical care and service.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited PA program
  • Current FL PA-C License
  • BLS/ACLS certification and NCCPA board certification are required
  • Infection Control Certificate must be current
  • Must have taken child abuse recognition course
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a PA, preferably in an orthopedic setting or alternate surgical subspecialty

Nice To Haves

  • Master's, Physician Assistant
  • Current NCCPA Certificate - 100 hours of continuing medical education must be logged every 2 years. Recertification Examination must be taken every 6-10 years and passed successfully.
