About The Position

The Physician Assistant (PA) provides comprehensive medical and psychological support through patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management. Working under the supervision of the Medical Director, the PA may function independently within their scope of practice and collaborate with physicians, behavioral health providers, and other clinical team members as needed. This role supports patients receiving treatment for substance use disorders and mental health conditions by delivering compassionate, evidence-based medical care, psychological support, and patient education.

Requirements

  • Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Active Colorado Physician Assistant license or eligibility to obtain licensure
  • Valid driver's license
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in a hospital or physician office setting
  • Strong clinical judgment with the ability to address both medical and psychological patient needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Compassionate bedside manner and trauma-informed approach
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary medical and behavioral health team
  • Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic clinical environment
  • Professional boundaries, maturity, and high ethical standards
  • Regular standing, walking, bending, and lifting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to perform routine clinical activities with reasonable accommodations if needed

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and medical screenings at admission and throughout treatment
  • Provide ongoing medical and psychological support to patients with substance use and mental health disorders
  • Perform examinations, diagnose conditions, and develop integrated treatment plans
  • Order, interpret, and explain diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and recommend lifestyle modifications in accordance with state regulations
  • Assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of individualized medical and behavioral health treatment plans
  • Complete physical assessments and medical clearance for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
  • Monitor patients receiving HBOT, TMS, and additional Plus services
  • Collaborate closely with behavioral health, medical, and clinical staff to support whole-person care
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation
  • Educate patients and families on substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and treatment options
  • Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families; facilitate or support group interventions as appropriate
  • Refer patients to external medical or behavioral health providers when clinically indicated
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant clinical environment
  • Stay current with medical and behavioral health best practices, advancements, and continuing education requirements
