Job Summary We are seeking a Physician Assistant to support the Internal Medicine Practice and to provide coverage when the providers are out of the office.
Requirements
- Physician Assistant certification
- Massachusetts license
- ACLS Certificate
- MCSR (Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration)
- Proficient Computer Skills (MS Word)
- EMR experience required
- Ability to document in electronic health record completely and accurately
- Knowledge of clinical reminders and how to use them appropriately
- Good communication skills, both spoken and written
- Willing and able to work in a team environment
- Able to change with the ever evolving healthcare field
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and Treat acute and chronic Illness
- Perform age-appropriate history and physical
- Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s age-specific needs
- Prescribe appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments to patient’s age specific need
- Monitor the effectiveness of treatments
- Provide education of acute and chronic medical conditions
- Managing Chronic Medical Conditions
- Reconciling medication list
- Facilitating appointments to specialist
- Providing thorough exams and evaluations of patient’s health status
- Facilitate appropriate chronic care management (i.e. Diabetic eye exams, foot exams and nutritional counseling)
- Preventive Medicine
- Keeping track of and referring patient to appropriate preventive medical screenings (e.g. Mammograms and Colonoscopies)
- Counseling and reinforcing patients in healthy life style habits
