Physician Assistant – ICU – Rotating - Allen Hospital Step into a high-achieving hospital, where premier clinicians deliver personalized care. Here, at the Allen Hospital, you’ll experience a wide variety of cases, ranging from general critical care (medical ICU) to subspecialty services (surgical ICU, OB, etc.) in our 12-bed ICU as an integral part of the multidisciplinary care team model, inclusive of Pulmonary/Critical Care & Hospitalist attendings, residents, clinical pharmacist and nurses. The ICU Physician Assistant (PA) will participate in the full range of academic clinical care including vascular access placement, hemodynamic monitoring, drug infusion titration, point of care ultrasound, ventilator management, renal replacement therapy, nutritional support, infection control practices, medical ethics, medical education, and quality improvement initiatives. We currently have positions available as we build a 24/7 PA team in our busy adult ICU. The schedule requires three 12.5 hour shifts per week including days, nights, weekends and holiday coverage. This role also provides potential opportunities for cross-training in our other specialty ICUs. Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physician Assistant studies
  • Current NYS licensure
  • NCCPA certification

Nice To Haves

  • At least 1 year of experience in caring for critical care patients, however, strong new graduates will be considered.
