About The Position
Under supervision of a licensed physician, performs duties of a Physician Assistant including evaluation and treatment of patients having medical and/or surgical problems. Teaches staff and students and performs quality assurance functions for the department. Primary clinical role will be bedside assisting for the General Surgery, Urology, GYN and Surgical Oncology services. This PA will be assigned primarily to the OR with availability to assist other surgical services in clinics or inpatient floors if no surgeries are scheduled. In the role of robotic surgery PA it will be expected this PA will help train new PAs in first assisting, fosters growth and learning of other PAs. Also serves as liaison between nursing staff, surgeons and administration on robotic surgery matters. Full-time workweek is forty hours; may be required to work in excess of schedules during staffing shortages or to complete cases. These hours will be compensated by adjusting the working schedule.
