About The Position

Compass Government Solutions is seeking a Physician Assistant to provide services at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in Fort Bliss, Texas. This opportunity is part of a proposal effort. We are currently accepting applications from experienced candidates to be considered if the contract is awarded. Incumbents are encouraged to apply. Schedule: Monday - Friday 5 AM to 4:30 PM (Subject to change in support of the mission)

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate or Master's Degree - from an accredited college or university certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education of the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA), or previously recognized accrediting body.
  • In addition specialty PAs must complete residency or fellowship training of 12 (twelve) months or more in a medical specialty program acceptable to the DHA. NPI is required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience within the last two (2) years working as a full-time Physician Assistant in primary care medicine (e.g. family practice, general medicine, internal medicine).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician's Assistants (NCCPA).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure Service Members (SMs) are medically cleared for Mobilization/Demobilization (MOB/DEMOB.
  • See an average of 4 to 6 patients per hour, (SRP) / 2 to 3 patients per hour and/or the patient per hour average of the other collective CPs in the Section, unless affected by circumstances beyond their control
  • Comply with all MTF productivity standards and maintain a level of productivity comparable with that of other individuals performing similar services.
  • Provide medical examination, care, and treatment to service members.
  • Review medical histories and progress of service members.
  • Examine service members, make diagnosis of disease, disaster, or injury, and treat service member or prescribe a course of treatment.
  • Administer Health Risk Appraisal questionnaire.
  • Initiate requests for tests, x-rays, and admissions to the medical treatment facility, as appropriate.
  • Follow-up on abnormal reports.
  • Prescribe medications, as appropriate, in accordance with the privileges and regulations.
  • Seek advice of consultants when appropriate.
  • Facilitate service member access to medical care by recommending appropriate referrals to other HCWs in accordance with policies and regulations.
  • Prepare and document appropriate history physical examinations, and diagnosis.
  • Maintain documentation of all treatment provided in accordance with applicable directives and prepare such records and reports as may be required.
  • Ensure all documentation and reports are legible and complete.
  • Complete each outpatient encounter in MHS Genesis at the end of each day or within 24 hours and appropriately close the record.
  • Respond to cardiopulmonary arrest as appropriate.
  • Advise the Medical Director of the clinic where contracted services are being provided of any problems encountered or anticipated in connection with meeting the needs of service members treated.
  • Attend and participate in service member care reports, service member care conferences, team conferences, professional staff conferences and other appropriate professional activities only to the extent that such attendance and participation is relative to his/her assigned cases and/or performance of contract services as determined by the COR or Department Chief.
  • Adhere to the Center for Disease Control guidelines always concerning universal precautions and the Infection Control Program while providing services under this contract.
  • Indicate responsibility for the contents and accuracy of all prepared reports/forms by signing all such documents/records.
  • Abide by all facility rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Perform all duties in such a manner that they meet all Joint Commission standards.
  • Follow established government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols in the performance of duties as outlined in MTF policies and procedures.
  • Participate in the MTF Quality Assurance program as applicable to include performance of peer reviews.
  • Use of telecommunications and information technologies to provide health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, consultation, education, and health-related information across distances.
  • Utilize paraprofessional staff as appropriate.
  • Abide by all clinical standards, rules, and procedures including requirements for licensure, credentialing, and quality assurance programs.
  • Comply with all health requirements, immunizations, and vaccinations.
  • Complete all DoD, DHA, and MTF-specified training requirements.
  • Personally record hours worked in the Defense Medical Human Resources System – internet (DMHRSi) system, or other system, as required by the MTF
