The Department of Family Medicine at the UI Health Care Walk In Clinics is seeking a 60% (24 hours a week) Weekend Option (WEO) Physician Assistant (PA) to support our Iowa City (Corridor) and Quad Cities Urgent Care/QuickCare Clinic locations. The Physician Assistant performs direct patient care, including diagnostic and therapeutic services. Within the Physician Assistant (PA)/Physician relationship, the PA will exercise autonomy in medical decision making and services provided. The PA will also assist in educating healthcare students, as they rotate through the respective departments and divisions and will assist in research endeavors as appropriate. UI Health Care Walk-in Clinics provide care to try to save our patients a trip to the emergency room. We’re open evenings, weekends, and even some holidays. Our clinics are responsible for assessing a wide variety of patients from newborn to geriatric and ensuring patient care standards are met. The Walk In Clinics provide access to additional care options not normally found at your traditional walk-in clinic, including X-rays, IV fluids, and stitches. This position is part of a dynamic and fast paced environment, rich with opportunities for learning and growth. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that encourages teamwork between multiple disciplinary teams to provide the most comprehensive care to our patients. We have several locations throughout the Iowa City/Corridor and Quad Cities so that our patients are able to find a convenient location near them. This position reports to the Medical Director and Lead APP within UI Health Care Walk In Clinics. This position will support both Iowa City/Corridor sites as well as Quad Cities clinical sites.
