The Physician Assistant is an independent health care provider who coordinates care through collaboration with the attending Physician. The PA provides care in accordance with the objectives policies and procedures of the practice and the New Jersey State Board of Medical Examiners Physician Assistant. The main function of this role is to provide consistent, high-quality perioperative/postoperative care for all surgery patients. The PA will be expected to function as an active member of the surgery patient care team. Responsibilities include surgical first assisting, perioperative/postoperative management, hospital rounds on inpatients, and emergency room consultations. The PA will be expected to work to the full extent of their licensure with an emphasis on supervised autonomy.
