About The Position

The Physician Assistant is responsible for providing primary medical care, within the limits of the training of a Physician Assistant, to assigned patients. The Physician Assistant is a licensed provider works in collaboration with a Thundermist physician. The Physician Assistant executes professional clinical judgment in the care of Thundermist patients, according to the scope, privileges, guidelines, policies and procedures set forth by Thundermist Health Center, and in accordance with the precepting terms agreed upon by Thundermist.

Requirements

• Have graduated from a physician assistant training program certified by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) or its successor
• Have passed the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, or any other national certifying exam approved by the Board of Licensure of Physician Assistants within the Rhode Island Department of Health
• Be licensed as a physician assistant by Board of Licensure of Physician Assistants within the Rhode Island Department of Health pursuant to R.I. Gen. Laws§ 5-54-16.
• Exceptional oral and written skills needed.
• Proficient in all applicable medical terminology.
• Good interpersonal skills are needed.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual capacity in Spanish or Laotian is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Patient care – history, physical exam, anticipatory education/guidance in pediatrics, management of acute and chronic illness
• Maintenance of complete/accurate patient records
